I have recently relocated to South Essex and now mainly perform in that area, leaving London to my beautiful and talented bellydancers working with the agency.

Over the years I have danced for thousands of private parties, family gatherings, and also at some of London’s most prestigious venues including the Houses of Parliament, Park Lane Hilton, Café de Paris, Gordon Ramsay’s Claridges, Dans le Noir Restaurant, and many more.

I am available for hire, for Private parties, Corporate events, Family gatherings, bringing a fun and authentic middle-eastern theme to each one of your event. My colourful costumes have all been hand-made by renowned designers in Cairo, mainly by Eman Zaki.”

What makes me different and special as a performer?

“I like to perform with all my heart and my main objective is for people to have a good time and a good laugh. For me interaction with the guests is really key to a successful performance.

My main aim is to break the ice and to really kick start a party. The way I know if I have done a great job is if when I leave everyone is up on the dance floor having a great time and trying out all these amazing moves the bellydancer was doing!”

Why I chose to become a performer:  “The first time I performed it was with my teacher. She needed a couple of advanced students to do a group show at a wedding. The wedding took place at the Hilton on Park Lane, it was an Indian wedding and it was just huge, with maybe 600 people at the reception. There was a projector screen displaying the Vogue magazine logo so I’m not sure if maybe the bride worked for Vogue, no idea. The vibe was just incredible and I loved the feeling. Ever since that moment I decided to become a professional dancer and trained twice as hard as before.”

Favourite anecdote when performing: “I was performing at a family wedding and everyone was loving the show, including the children. I ended my show with over 15 children trailing behind me copying my moves!”

Silliest, weirdest or most embarrassing thing when performing: “I was booked for a birthday party which turned out to be on the top floor of a tower block in east London. Amazing views but the poor girl only had 5 friends that actually turned up and had catered for about 40. It was a challenging performance because there wasn’t any vibe when I arrived and I dreaded how dull this could all become. I managed to get everyone up and dancing and we all had fun in the end so clearly “the more, the merrier” doesn’t always apply?!”

“I dance spontaneously to the music. As a solo dancer, I don’t use choreographies but get inspired from the audience and interact with their emotions. I communicate mainly with the female audience as I want to inspire and empower them.”

Do you like working with Aurora Bellydance Agency?

“Yes, absolutely!”

Why I chose to become a performer:  “Funnily enough, I was not intending to become a performer! I was always shy to perform in public. But when I was seen dancing in social events, I was encouraged to take it professionally both from Arabs and non-Arabs. Many years ago, when I was looking for a job, I was recommended from friends for bellydance positions in a Persian restaurant and a Moroccan shisha bar. Both places were enthusiastic with my dance and there it all started! I was then asked from customers and also recommended from the owners for weddings and events and my career as a bellydancer took its first steps!”

Favourite anecdote when performing: “I was dancing in a family event for Eid. I was planning to perform different choreographies to classical Egyptian and also Iraqi Kawleeya. I was completely prepared to give my best and showcase a high standards performance. When I came out to the stage, I realised it was full of kids aged 1-13!!! There was no space to spin or do travelling moves!!! I had to be careful so I was using small steps and slow turns. Wherever I was going, the smaller kids were following me! A very little one was getting under my skirt! I realised I had to skipy “professional” role and start interacting with the children. So I got them all in a circle in the stage and encouraged them to imitate me!!! They were adorable…”

Silliest, weirdest or most embarrassing thing when performing: “I was dancing regularly in a local restaurant and was in the ladies to change into my costume. There were only two cubicles, one for men and one for women. A lady was very frustrated that I was taking time as she was rushing to use the toilet. She kept banging the door and shouting for me to come out. Then she gave up and I heard her complaining to the manager “the bloody bellydancer is taking ages in the toilet”!!! When I came out, I figured out who she was (she was upset and wouldn’t look at me when I was dancing) so I kept smiling and grabbing her to dance. She was quite uncomfortable. I told her “sorry but we don’t have changing rooms in here” and she got embarrassed and apologised for her behaviour.”

Why I chose to become a performer:  “I trained as an actor and singer for my degree but soon lost my passion for it, and the industry itself. When I started belly dancing it was something I really enjoyed that was good exercise I hadn’t intended to do it professionally. But I loved it so much I didn’t want to stop, and my teacher encouraged me to do shows and to teach in her absence. So now I get to use my performance skills doing something I absolutely love, to express the music with my movements, and the costumes are so lovely! It makes me feel like a goddess.”

Silliest, weirdest or most embarrassing thing when performing: “I once forgot to take the top of my costume with me to do two shows very far from home. It was only when I arrived to get changed that I realised my mistake. The high respect I have for Dance and the Performance is obvious while on show.”

What makes me different and special as a performer?

“I am a joker. I like to make people laugh. I like to use different dance styles with lots of isolations and spinning that are not often used in performances. And of course I love the theatrical part of my performances!”

Do you like working with Aurora Bellydance Agency?

“I love working with the Agency, in fact this is the only agency I work with as a Belly Dancer. Honesty, clear communication, and prompt payment are qualities I found that makes me stay with the agency, plus the way Aurora treats us, she makes us feel important, she trust us, she works hard for us, and she is clear with the fees (something I couldn’t find before with any other agency).”

Why I chose to become a performer:  “My first approach to Bellydance was because I wanted to heal my lower back, I tried first to see how good it could be. It was recommended by my yoga colleague who also perform as a bellydancer and then became my tutor. On the first session I fell in love with the dance style and since then I cannot live without it. What I love about performing bellydance is the connection you have with the viewer when you dance, the freedom and feminine power you hold while performing, the strong and deep inner work you do with yourself too, and all the acting you do to perform, I particularly love to make little jokes and make people laugh.”

Favourite anecdote when performing: “Once I was in a hurry to perform in a restaurant and in the rush I forgot to pack my skirt. I had all the rest of my costume, except the skirt. So I decided to create one with whatever I had in my bag, using scarfs, belts, even my shirt! I don’t know how no one noticed or whether they were way too polite to say something but everyone was really happy with the performance. I don’t think they noticed the lack of costume, it looked very tribal though.”

My style is upbeat, playful and emotional, with an emphasis on connection with the audience. I’m happy to take special requests for dance style, costuming and music to customise your show.”

What makes me different and special as a performer?
