Aurora London Bellydancer

WWF Variety Show

Aurora Bellydance is organising a charity night on Thursday 16th September 2010 to support the WWF.

The WWF is striving for a One Planet Future where people and nature thrive within their fair share of the planet’s natural resources.

Their mission is to work closely with governments, businesses and communities in the UK and around the world to:
-halt and wherever possible reverse dramatic declines in wildlife species and the destruction of the places where they live.
-tackle the issue of climate change, which represents an increasing threat to so many of the planet’s species, including our own.
-and finally try to encourage less wasteful lifestyles.

The event will take place at the Peacock Bar in Clapham Junction (evening).

The owner has very kindly agreed to let us host the event in the venue for free and has also agreed to donate 10% of the proceeds from drinks to the charity.

All the proceeds collected from the entry tickets will also go to the WWF (probably £10/person).

We are aiming for an audience of about 150 people and to raise between £1,500 and £2,000.

I'm currently looking for volunteer performers who would like to figure on the line-up for the night. This will be a variety show with all sorts of wonderful, hypnotic, but also daring and crazy acts so please feel free to suggest your own ideas:

belly dancers, samba dancers, comedians, magicians, hoola hoop performers, burlesque dancers, pole dancers, can can dancers, acrobats, circus artists, singers, contortionists....etc...

The setting inside the venue is lovely and very atmospheric, with low tables and couches everywhere. There will be a stage.

The event will also be an opportunity for performers to promote themselves as there will be an area for flyers, business cards...

If you would like to help me raise funds for the WWF and take part in the event, please fill in the document here and send it to AuroraBellydance@googlemail.com

Please feel free to forward this info onto your friends and contacts who may be interested in either performing or booking tickets.

The tickets will be released very soon. Please send me your email address and write "charity gig ticket" in the subject box if you wish to figure on the priority list. Which means you'll be the first people to know when the tickets go on sale.
